Robert formed Valentine & Co in 1982, at a time when chartered accountants commonly carried out insolvency work. As a chartered accountant, he drew on extensive experience gained in senior roles across several major firms, shaping the early foundations of the practice and establishing its reputation.
In 2005, he sold the practice and continued as a part-time consultant. Now retired, Robert still oversees the firm in a part-time capacity. He keeps himself in excellent shape and leads an impressively active life, dividing his time between charitable work, political reading, cruising, travelling, and short courses that fuel his keen interest in geopolitics.
